About Us

CARE for the Cape & Islands™ was founded in 2012 to connect visitors with opportunities to support local organizations committed to the long-term sustainability of the region through contributions of time, talent or treasure. Visitors are invited to give back by participating in volunteer opportunities such as beach clean ups and environmental research, sharing their personal knowledge and expertise with local organizations and projects and making financial donation. In addition, CARE works to strengthen the image of tourism businesses as “good citizens” who support the local community projects, aid the development of customer loyalty, and build employee pride.By leveraging the tourism industry to connect visitors with local projects and forging a deeper and more authentic connection between visitors and the destination, CARE for the Cape helps to enrich the guest experience and offer a “win-win” for both tourism and local organizations.
