• First Citizens’ Charitable Foundation Gives in a BIG Way

May 22, 2019 First Citizens’ Charitable Foundation presented a check in the amount of $5,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands (BBBSCCI) whose mission is to help thousands of youth find a positive path through a volunteer model unlike any other social service organization. This donation will particularly help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands with their strategic expansion. Through this expansion, they will be able to reach hundreds more of the area’s most vulnerable youth.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters is a vital asset to our community,” said Peter Muise, President & Chairman of the Board of First Citizens' Charitable Foundation. “We’re excited to support them in providing mentors and role models who build positive and impactful relationships with our local youth on Cape Cod.”

Since 2014, BBBSCCI has increased the number of youth served with a mentor by 68%. Over the next 5 years, their strategic growth plan seeks to serve 450 children per year with a mentor. “We are so grateful for the First Citizens’ Charitable Foundation’s commitment to the youth that we serve,” said JR Mell, Regional Director for BBBSCCI. “This donation will help to support our continued growth and match more at-risk youth with a mentor throughout the Cape & Islands.”
