Y’All’s Wicked Kitchen Partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters to Support Bigs in Blue Initiative
A Portion of Sales for the “Blue Line Burger” will be donated to BBBS in Honor of K-9 Sgt. Sean Gannon
Starting this week, a new menu item will be available at local restaurant Y’All’s Wicked Kitchen that will make a big impact on the local Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Program through the sales of their newly-introduced “Blue Line Burger”. Through the generosity of owners Sara Spurr and Jason Grambach, $10 of each burger sold will be donated to support the K-9 Sgt. Sean M. Gannon Bigs in Blue Program which matches officers, as mentors, with youth in the Cape & Islands community.
“We are so happy to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters. I was a Big in Boston for several years and the agency’s mission is important to me,” said Sara. “Supporting our local Bigs in Blue program in honor of Sgt. Gannon is especially meaningful given his legacy here in our Yarmouth community. We are honored to do something in support of that legacy in this very small way.”
“BBBS is honored to be a beneficiary of this special menu item to support our Bigs in Blue initiative,” said JR Mell, Regional Director for BBBSCCI. “The generosity of our Cape & Islands community continues to help us support and grow our initiative to match more kids with a caring, adult mentor.”
The Blue Line Burger will be added to the restaurant’s menu permanently and is priced at $13.99, of which $10 from each burger sold will be donated to the Bigs in Blue initiative.
BBBSCCI’s Bigs in Blue Program is named in honor of Sgt. Sean Gannon, a 3 year Big Brother, and member of Yarmouth Police Department, who was killed in the line of duty. The initiative, started in 2017, serves over 20 children, mostly boys, with a mentor from the Barnstable, Yarmouth, Mashpee, Edgartown and Oak Bluffs Police Departments.
