Hyannis, December 21, 2018 -  LoveLiveLocal's annual shopping event "LoveLocal Fest: Holiday Edition" was considered a successful shopping event by festival goers and vendors alike, but it was also a successful fundraising event for Cape Abilities, who is currently celebrating its 50th year of service and support for hundreds of individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod.
The two-day event, which was held on December 1 and 2 in a vacant retail space in Capetown Plaza in Hyannis, raised $4000 for the organization through a suggested $5 donation at the door.
"We see our holiday event as the perfect time to also raise money for a local charity, as the holiday season definitely encourages the spirit of giving," said LoveLiveLocal co-founder Amanda Converse. "Our community was definitely feeling that spirit this year!"
This was the fifth annual LoveLocal Fest:Holiday Edition, and the fifth year raising money for a local cause. Past recipients of the fundraising element of the event were The Cape Cod Times Needy Fund and the Community Media Center of Cape Cod.
Converse explained that her partners at LoveLiveLocal "chose Cape Abilities this year, not only because of their five decades of working to advocate and provide for Cape Codders with disabilities, but also because of their support for the local economy and local makers and artisans through their retail operations like the Cape Abilities Farm in Dennis."

"We are extremely grateful for this generous donation and we feel honored that Cape Abilities is recipient of the proceeds from this year's event," said Jonathan Sproul, President & CEO of Cape Abilities.  "We are energized and optimistic about being a part of the Love Live Local movement, and we hope that we can support others within it as much as it supports us."
