The Harbor your Arts Artist Shanties at Hyannis Harbor/Bismore Park will open for the 2010 season on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM. This popular attraction provides a picturesque setting to view art made by both man and nature.  Visitors to the seven harbor side shanties can enjoy photography, painting, handmade jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, stained glass, mosaics, scrimshaw, mariner knot work, rock jewelry and much more created by local artists and artisans.The shanties will open Saturday’s and Sunday’s, Sunday June 20, 2010 Beginning Saturday, June 26th shanties will be open seven days a week, 11:00AM - 8:00PM through Labor Day, September 6, 2010 September 7-October 3rd, seven days a week, 11AM -5PM

Over 32 Cape Cod artists will occupy the 7 artist shanties.The Harbor your Arts Artist Shanty Program is sponsored by Town of Barnstable and made possible with generous grant support of the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Town’s project partners, Main Street Business Improvement District (Cape Cod Art Association (CCAA), the Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce and in coordination with Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce

Free Concert at Aselton Park, Hyannis
Jo & Co will be performing at Aselton Park, Hyannis (corner of South and Ocean Street). Concert is 6-7:30PM. Free parking available at Town Hall parking lot, 230 South Street and public restrooms are available at Bismore Park on the Harbor. There is no rain date. This event is free and family friendly.

Safe Boating and Sailing Mini-Camp
Learn to sail as well as get a taste of history on our museum built 1886 Crosby catboat Sarah. This unique boating safety course will give kids 12 to 15 years of age hands on experience on the water. Upon successful completion, a Massachusetts Safe Boating License will be issued by the state. One week course $150 9am to 12pm Monday thru Friday Course offered 3 times: July 12-16, July 19-23, July 26-30 Class size limited to 6 students.* *Class seats fill up quickly, so register today! Hyannis Yacht Club's 68th annual signature event with daily races
Hyannis Yacht Club will hold its 68th annual signature event with daily races on July 30th, Saturday 31st and Sunday, August 1st. Commencing at noon Friday, July 30th, races will be held daily; Saturday and Sunday from 10 am until 3pm. HYC will host over 230 one design and PHRF boats for the premier event of the season. Sailors from as far west as Chicago, as far south as US Virgin Islands and as far north as Canada will participate. Classes included in the Regatta are Optimist Prams, Laser Standard’s and Radial’s , C420’s, J22’s, F-18 Cats and PHRF. Racing is held in Lewis Bay, Hyannisport Harbor and beyond the Hyannisport breakwater. Excellent viewing is available through the various harbor cruise lines and ferry services and from locations on the shore. Harbor Your Arts Artist Shanties on the Harbor
The Harbor your Arts Artist Shanties at Hyannis Harbor, Bismore Park on Ocean Street are open seven days a week, 11AM - 8PM through Labor Day. There are seven shanties: in addition to five full season artist shanties there are two rotating shanties --White and Yellow -- which feature a new artist or group of artists each week. This week in White -- Heather Blume Heather is a mixed-medium artist and sculptor originally from Cape Cod. She brings a variety of mediums to her predominantly figurative themes. This week in Yellow -- Christine Esperson makes high-fire functional pottery that is dishwasher and microwave safe. She also has some raku pieces that are purely decorative. Her jewelry is made from semi-precious stones, her own clay beads and sterling silver from Mexico and Egypt.

Strokes of Genius Mini-Golf
The Barnstable Education Foundation presents Strokes of Genius Mini-Golf, a nine-hold mini-golf fundraiser with each hole designed by a different artist. It is open from June 28th to August 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Admission is $5.00 per person and it is located on Hyannis Main Street across from Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.
