March 6 - James Wolf: Abstract Expressionist Painting
In the Abstract Expressionist Painting class we will learn to mix colors. Lots of colors: bright colors, dark colors, ones that make us feel good when we look at them, ones that look good together. Then we will use lots of different brushes to make the marks, planes and textures that are needed to paint a beautiful, interesting abstract.
March 13 - Joe Diggs: Drawing then Painting a Painting
This session will start with developing the overall composition then focus on drawing technique, content and details. Next, color mixing then all of the ways to apply paint to make a painting as beautiful as you can make it.
March 20 - John Cira: Found Object Assemblage
Participating students will collaborate on a free-standing sculpture constructed from found objects. Each student should assemble a collection of their own objects to contribute to the work and for possible use in constructing a small wall hung piece of their own composition. And we will initially search the art center area for objects for possible use in the work(s).
March 27 - Jackie Reeves: Drawing Faces and Expressions
In this portrait class we will learn about the portportions of the human head and practice drawing faces with pencil, charcoal and erasers. Using mirrors we will study facial expressions and draw emotions with line and shading techniques.

MARKETING IN TOUGH TIMES
“A rising tide floats all the boats” but the tide’s gone out and the winds are howling. So you'd better learn to be a better sailor or you're going to sink!
When the economy is going good it's easy to maintain a healthy, profitable business. But when the economy turns sour it's a lot tougher. Do you know how to run your business well enough to survive? And if you're good at marketing you can even thrive because your competitors just may do a lot of dumb things, like stop their marketing efforts, and fade away.
This workshop offers tips on what to do and some things to avoid so that you can survive, and even thrive in these very difficult economic times.
Presenter: Cliff Robbins PhD, MA Small Business Development Center (MSBDC). Cliff is a senior business advisor for the MSBDC network. He is a management professional and educator with functional experience in the fields of marketing, sales, strategic planning and e-commerce.
