Annual Program of Work

The Chamber’s annual program of work creates goals and projects that are advanced through committee work. All Chamber members in good standing are invited to participate on a committee of their choice.
Membership Committee
Mission:
To maintain and increase membership in the HACC and to provide a variety of benefits and programs.
Highlights:
- Outreach to members for more involvement
- Produce / distribute Member-to-Member Directory
- Host Annual Dinner / monthly Business After Hours events
- Host New Member Reception
- Continue / expand Ambassador Program
Economic Development / Government Relations Committee

Mission:
To represent the membership on issues of common concern at the local, county and state level. To enhance communication between the Chamber and government representatives. To communicate to the members on legislative concerns.
Highlights:
- To support issues relevant to HACC Membership
- To attend Town Council meetings
- To maintain/develop town official relations.
- To track changes to regional (county) government
- To maintain/develop legislative relationship with elected officials
- Assist in retention / expansion of existing businesses and attraction of new businesses to area
- Promote redevelopment / revitalization efforts
- Support Workforce Housing issues
Marketing and Tourism Committee
Mission:
To position Hyannis as a premier destination.
Highlights:
- Continue co-op marketing plan / partnership with Town of Barnstable and Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce
- Work to address issues for tourism in light of economic conditions
- Continue to increase international tourism involvement working with CCChamber & Michael Patrick Destinations
- Continue presence at conventions and marketplaces to market our destination
- In conjunction with JFK Hyannis Museum and Cape Cod Baseball League, create a multi-dimensional marketing campaign
- Continue to promote Father’s Day Main Street Car Show
- Develop a marketing plan for all activities
Guidebook Committee
Mission:
To produce a high quality, informative guidebook in-house and to raise money to carry out the chamber’s program of work.
Highlights:
- Improve design quality
- Maintain 150,000 copies
- Increase ad sales
Technology Committee
Mission:
To educate our members in evolving technologies that will enhance their businesses and be a support resource.
Highlights:
- Promote web site as a marketing resource and provide advertising opportunities on the site in order to generate revenues and increase membership exposure
- Assist hospitality members by maintaining an on-line availability system
- Create on-line photo gallery of downloadable images for media and tour operators
- Host seminars to educate members
